Celebrating the cross by "Humans since 1982"
text by Pascal Panagiotidis for Yatzer
Who could ever imagine a Cross as a functional and practical element? Is it a piece of furniture to lie and relax? This may sound kind of contradictory but it seems that two Designstudents of HDK Göteborg's School of Design and Arts in Sweden, Per Emanuelsson and Bastian Bischoff managed to go beyond the religious limits and create a lounge out of this Christian symbol. "Humans since 1982", the nickname of their collaboration, launched the "Surveillance Light"* last year and now they are coming back with the "Celebrating the cross" project, a new practical function of the “cross” symbol. This furniture is quite a challenging concept which will be exhibited at Röhsska Design-Museum in Göteborg, on the summer of 2009. If you don’t manage to have a close look, Yatzer is giving you the opportunity to enjoy this new polarising product through Christoffer T. Duff’s photos.
