Joost van Bleiswijk - No screw no glue

published in: By Costas Voyatzis, 27 March 2009

With the ‘No screw no glue’ pendulum XL, Joost van Bleiswijk proves that he is in full control of his ‘No screw no glue’ technique. The complete control of this technique, leads to excesses in shape and allows Joost to honour more detailed, ornamental objects, such as the classical pendulum.
Within the apparently natural evolution and complexity of the ‘No screw no glue’ technique, Joost strives for depth and finds ways to create personal conclusions of classical objects. The pendulum, once designed as a functional, but mostly ornamental object, has proven to be a grateful subject.
The ‘No screw no glue’ pendulum XL contains approximately 300 hand polished, separate elements.

I have really enjoyed some of the no screw no glue pieces. They are very modern yet have such goth appeal. A nice contrast of light and dark. Is there a reason we were not treated to the completed Pendulum?
