Dual Range series by Alex Bradley

Among other attractive and functional furniture pieces by Alex Bradley's debut DUAL RANGE collection, is Notch 2tone, a multifunctional object which can be used as a side table and a stool, while at the same time the void space provides area for storage, and the “notch” acts like a bookmark!

According to Bradley, the objective of ‘Notch 2Tone’ is that of durability and endurance, while his inspiration and his creativity comes from observational insights and the ritual nature of human behavior. All the above is reflected in the functionality of the object, its form and its finish. Serving as a side table and a stool // Notch 2tone// also provides a void storage space, while the notch allows a magazine or book to be stored whilst bookmarking the page! The raised back section provides an area to lay literature open, whilst providing further stool cues.

Notch’s form, provides not only the functional requirements stimulated from the outset, but reflects its ideology in its simple and austere aesthetic. The same does Notch+.

This is echoed by the finish, encompassing a hand brushed exterior and virgin material interior. While celebrating the heritage, skill and quality of the British manufacturing industry Bradley showcases an exquisite arrangement of modern and traditional techniques throughout the design and manufacturing process.

Alex Bradley’s products aim to address the ever evolving needs of consumers today.  With his designs stemming from front-end insights and observations of users, while referencing to top-level trends.  Bradley’s products look forward, creating products with longevity at the forefront despite their simple and sometimes austere aesthetic. Having pursued a degree in Industrial Design & Technology from Loughborough University, Bradley also has a diverse mix of industrial experience.  He has benefited from spells with global blue chip brands, multi-disciplinary and strategy consultancies and has accrued experience across consumer products, interiors, transport, home wares and furniture design in the context of design and development for manufacture, design research and strategy. Bradley’s work has been exhibited and published internationally.

Alex Bradley will debut his "Dual Range" 'collection at 100% Design London from September 24-27, 2009 at Stand J94.  Bradley will also be showing at Liberty of London, with an exclusive finish for the store September 19 -27, 2009.
