The new RIVA 86' DOMINO //  photo by Jerome Kelagopian

Dear Yatzereaders,

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin (VCP) has courtly invited Yatzer to attend the presentation of the new 86'DOMINO yacht by RIVA, in the much loved St.. The itinerary consists of cocktail party’s, sailing on exclusive  yachts, partying and attending High Tea on the seas. The details as always will be shared with my readers once Yatzer has returned from glamour and glitz.

From the 4th – 8th September there will be no updates.

Of course I will not leave our readers empty handed while I'll be away!!

One of you has the opportunity to win a luxurious high end exclusively designed Riva Delight: The hard top ‘Cruiser Bag’ especially designed by Riva for Veuve Clicquot in white color, which includes a bottle of La Grande Dame 98' and two champagne flutes. HOW?? By answering the question below:

'' Describe the moment, the setting and the person
you will savour the chilled VCP top champagne
"La Grande Dame" with,
and Yatzer will convert the dream into reality. ''

Like the Cruise Collection, this collector's object reflects the "Riva" classic design cues. With pure lines, soft curves and sophistication, white lacquer coated with mahogany, chrome detailing and leather accents, the Cruiser Bag bears the features of its model of inspiration in miniature. Emptied of its removable interior cushioning, the Cruiser Bag can be transformed into a beauty case, with interior pockets and protection pouch.
A piece of the dream you can carry anywhere!

All stories need to be floated on to the site by 11 September 12.00pm (Athens, GR) through the comments form and the winner will be announced in Yatzer’s TWITTER account on Friday September 11, 2009 and in the newsletter that will be sent on the 15th of September. For this reason, all the candidates have to fill out the comments form with their story and then just simply follow us on TWITTER or join our newsletter.

I am truly excited about this competition and can’t wait to journey with the stories of the Yatzereaders.

Yatzer will VCP you after the 8th September.

Thank you
Costas Voyatzis
Yatzer's editor in chief

I was sitting on the cliff, looking at stars on the sky and on their reflections in the water. Then I noticed Yatzer, he came back from some kind of party on the yacht; with wistful face, and with a bottle of champagne in his hand - it seemed that it was not the first one on these evening.;-) - "You know" - he said - "I deside to throw this bottle to the sea, as you wrote in your previous comment - because i definitely dont know what to do with it. It's very hard to choose whom i would share it: my charming girlfriend, or my lovely parents who taught me about this world, or with my best friend - who never leave me in hard situations, or even with my dog - honestly speaking - you never find the person who meet you with so much happiness every day you came back home from your work" he rised his hand and you'd better believe me - he would definitely throw the bottle, but I suddenly shout - "oh no, Stop! I know at least one more solution. - no wonder why you dont't know how to proceed in this situation, because all these people dear to your heart, and there is no matter how much wine you share with them - Love and Kindness - these are the real values, you can't pour them into the glasses, but you cant live life without them either. You know what" - i said - "Give this bottle to me and i will share it with most charming lady i meet this night - even if we never meet each other again it would be a great night to remember, but I'll do the most with my heart to meet her again - and it would be magnificent evening - and you agree "La Grande Dame" 98 - is a great deal to start with!"

The perfect setting and moment to share a bottle of La Grande Dame '98 would have to be with my entire family during an elegant 5-course meal prepared by my mother. I would love to share it with them to open up a conversation about the state of the world with the many generations of the family. Nothing can start a good conversation like a timeless champagne, and to share the good life and good conversation with family would be an everlasting memory.

twinkling of stars remind me repulse spectrum of human souls. sparkling champagne bubbles - whisper about secret desires. jump from the high cliff with the hope to reach the sea splashes with champagne Stream explode with every bubble. slam-bang - like rain reach the water - dissoleved in the sea for a moment and came up like sweeping Domino yacht - diamonds glittering in my eyes, champagne bubbles in my head and lustre of fame in the chest. And speed you achieve let to race with your dreams and to catch them up if you wish... and those pain in the chest... reminding some moments from the past and her eyes that make you feel strong for the first time. And you share your drink with the sea in hope that it held off her head with rain and bring her some happiness. Cheers!

It's the time of the day when the sun is heading to its regular rendezvous’ with the sea coming back from an underwater day in the Cycladic Islands.. can be melancholic I straggle off in my own boundaries, aligned with my own coordinates melodies sang a thousand times from barefoot fellows coming from the Dark Continent overwhelm the surroundings. I can see the first lights twinkling around the alleys of Chora feeling the salt from the Greek seas spreading all over my skin my body is wrapped in a gentle silky cloth and I can hear you calling me from the bedrock. Dancing with the wind, I am heading down the rock from the path you once mapped-out. Your shade is reflected on the humid mirror created by the waters of the Aegean Sea, and, like a bygone amateur sailor, you tie your favorite fine marine knots... your beloved RIVA lays down on the extempore wooden deck calm, and in the same time imposing, it unchains an intense erotic magnetic field your music tones are always allegoric your lighting is always hovering based on these times you needn't say anything one nod is enough to send me on the doorstep of your palace longing for your next move one moment and all of my senses are turned on.. The taste of your kisses overwhelms my palate, your arms are open and your palms are driving me beyond the boundaries of solid ground. I am hopelessly trying to read the rest of the story… you are calling me to join you at the fore surrounded only by the stars, the August moon and the wealth of the seabed out of the blue, I am losing you for a few moments the sea breeze is wrapping me up and I am longing for your embrace you are coming back under crystal sounds and the neat figure of our favorite bottle of our favorite "Grande Dame". I had already thought about its constant witness of our private moments, it couldn't be missing from this static journey a familiar sound that breaks the rather mute darkness and our entire privy moments deluge our flutes. Every bubble is a smile of yours every drop is one of the dreams we made together. I toss the first sip and the journey of unique delight begins and right there, on the spur of the moment, my sixth sense awakes... and it's you yes it's you! [Greek version available on my blog...]

Dear Yatzer....why don't you go for the lucky dip? It is fine and inspiring to tell stories upfront but wouldn't it be nicer to make 'The Grande Dame 98' part of the story? In other words.....you offer me the cruiser bag and you will get all the details of the story afterwards. It looks like a sneak preview, but take it for granted that 'la Grande Dame' shall be treated with the best of honours for the best of occasions. Your choice Yatzer.

It was a full moon night back in 1866, in the chateaus bedroom of Madame Cliquot. //Grand Dame de la Champagne// was surrounded by all her beloved; all those that she had loved with generosity and tenderness. Minutes before she closes her eyes, she called her favorite grand daughter Anne and she whispered something in her ear. A tear run on Anne's face! The champagne making process was always the same, Anne made sure that her grandmothers ''secret'' would live over the years and would pass over from generation to generation. 2009 Ponsardin, named after her grand grand-mother along with her husband Pietro named as well after his grand grand-father (Pietro Riva) were sailing in the beautiful Greek Aegean see with their Riva yacht. It was a beautiful full moon night again and the sky was full of stars. Suddenly a small comet crossed the sky as it had happened back in 1811 were Madame Cliquot believed it was a sign for the outstanding quality of the wine harvested that year. Ponsardin could not resist and thinking of it as a sign as well she said it's time. She went down to the yacht's cellar, that her husband had specially designed for her, and she came back with one of the best kept bottles of champagne, a vintage champagne coming from Napoleonic wars era. Her husband looked at her and asked ''are you sure?'', her eyes were sparkling like the champagne does, she just nodded. He opened the bottle and while they were drinking she told him ''WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO IT OUT OF LOVE'' her family's long lasting 'secret' success element. That night Ponsardin got pregnant at their 3rd child, it was a beautiful baby girl. 9 months after Pietro enters the hospitals maternity room along with him their 2 young boys. The boys were holding a box and said ''mommy that's something for you. It was the cruiser bag especially designed for her and their special day. He told her ''WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO IT OUT OF LOVE''. The above story is of course fiction. The characters could be all of you and I created that story out of love for Yatzer. Love to all of you, Yatzerina!!!

The Cruiser Bag gives one the inspiration of sharing clarity and definition on a still beach of white sand in total privacy - no sound beyond soft velvet bubbles dropping into our glasses for pure enjoyment. Nothing else exists.

During a full moon I would hijack the ferris wheel in the Tuileries Gardens at precisely two minutes to midnight with my Cruiser Bag in hand. We would ride the gondola to the top, my lover and I, and wait - for the Eiffel Tower to send a signal of 1000’s of diamond sparkling lights – to pop the cork on a chilled bottle of La Grande Dame. Wrapped in a fur blanket we would sip champagne during an unforgettable ride around and around and around until the lights stopped dancing and the last bubble was poured.

The moment... A perfect, warm summer night: full moon. No wind. No people. No mosquitoes -of course-. The place, just by the ocean. The Atlantic. An island. Minimal. Quite. Volcanic. Wild and cozy at the same time. The two of us, lost and naked. In love. No more luxury around than this bottle of champagne between you and I. We have nothing to lose, nothing to win. We surpass all the fears to enjoy this instant of beauty and confidence after the shipwreck. A toast: For us, cause we still survive, as this Grande Dame we are going to share... Tomorrow… Who cares?

I shall enjoy my ‘Cruiser Bag’ especially designed by Riva for Veuve Clicquot and my bottle of La Grande Dame 98' with the most important person in my life, my partner of two years whose smile still gives me goosebumps and tingles! We shall Land Rover down to the untamed Transkei Coast, in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Come twilight i will set up a table adorned with my "Cruiser Bag" lit with the gentle glow of cintronella candles dinner shell be served: fresh butter parsley grilled East Coast Rock Lobster. The crashing of the falls and the stars beginning to twinkle over the Indian Ocean will provide the perfect backdrop for us to toast to yatzer.com the end to a perfect evening.

Have another sip of champagne. Person A: Alright, it has just started to have the right effect on me… Person B: Great, since we are on our way to have a …hmmm… a refill!!! I would share the chichi bubbly on our deck under the stars with my wonderful husband who nursed me though a trying illness 3 years ago. This month we are celebrating our 10th anniversary and his 40th birthday. Heck, we might even share a drop or two with our pup who also celebrated a birthday this month. :) Shooting corks over the back fence is always a good time!

I will enjoy my ‘Cruiser Bag’ especially designed by Riva for Veuve Clicquot and bottle of La Grande Dame 98' with my boyfriend of two years, who when he smiles has the power to light up the darkest room. I will set up a table lit by citronella candles and adorned with delicious butter and parsley grilled East Coast Rock Lobster, placed on the grassy knoll just above the Mboyti Falls in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. We will dine enjoying our prizes while the thunder of one Africa's largest waterfalls and the setting sun over the warm Indian Ocean set the perfect atmosphere for us to toast to yatzer.com under the Southern African stars.

Hopefully the contest is available for international readers too :) ----------------- On the night of christmas eve (the next day happens to be my mom birthday), just me and my mom on our dining room, nothing fancy on our table, silent, but there's peace and love in the room. We will thank God that we have gone this far, just the two of us, we made it through (my mom got divorce 4 years ago, my dad literally expel us, it was a hard time for us, with no money, no roof above our head, and no job). Now, we are so grateful that we finally have a roof above our head and some food on our table. We also have something special for that night, a white luxurious bag with a bottle of "La Grande Dame" inside. A celebration of life and love, a bottle of "La Grande Dame" will be a perfect companion. --------------------- -- sorry for my english.

Me and my boyfriend of 6 years have lived in different cities and time zones for the past three years for school. We rarely get the time to visit each other and have only spent 3 days together this past year. I will be visiting him again this October. Its hard, but somehow it works. I would love to savour the moment, however brief it may be, with him and Le Grande Dame. He is a Psychology major and I study Philosophy, we both work very very very hard to succeed and support ourselves. It would be a wonderful escape from our day to day and a lovely way to reunite after some much time has passed. Thanks Yatzer!! i <3 u

Rain belting, ears filled with broken waves, harbour closed. We're not going anywhere. Captain and crew trudging home. We sit hugged tight by the humidity, hotel balcony above the docks, staying another day. I smile, catch your eye, reach to the bucket and unwrap the bottle's foil.

Ok... since you asked so politely... here it goes... If that little fab case arrived just in time for New York Fashion Week... it would be divine! I would be sitting with my best friend Alex watching the shows... reminiscing... reflecting... planning... and wishing for the New Season ahead of us, just like we would do on New Year's eve! That's what September is for... to be inspired by beautiful things around you and reset your goals for the next round! Cheers!

We flew high to stay out of trouble, away from radars. And when the time came, and we could see the island from above, we left the aircraft, each with a parachute, scared but also relieved to finally make it to the shack. ____ We landed and it was dark, very dark, no light in the horizon. Just the four of us. But we were not alone. In each backpack we carried there were houndreds of little sparkling stones. Thousands of them. And that was the only light we could see. It wouldn't be long before the sun would rise, so we had once again to run to the shack, next to the beach and hide the backpacks under the little wooden trap-door. ____ And suddenly, K. brought it out of his big backpack....A little white beautycase like leather bag. He emptied all diamonds from it and revealed four champagne glasses and a bottle of Grand Dame '98. "We deserve it, ladies and gentlemen", he said. "For the best job ever done". "Thank God, nothing like the Italian one", added S. and we all laughed and drank. Already dreaming of the day, six months later, that we would finally sell the stones. ____ The End. _____
