I remember making a rainbow-colored paper sailboat. The wing was colored with markers, and I had made the shell 3-dimensional by stapling a double layer and stuffing the whole thing with cotton wool. I was about 5 years old, and it hung proudly for a few months above the kitchen table.

Paper Snappers were always a favourite of mine. All you needed was a large piece of strong rectangular paper to fold and in seconds you had the perfect tool for for annoying sisters or adults. I made one recently and was shocked to hear how loud one piece of paper can be. My favorite papercraft used to be boats. A usual custom game for every little kid in Greece. Plain paper folded without glue, usually white, sometimes coloured. From large or small pieces of paper. Sometimes even with drawings on them. And then putting them in use, floating on water........

I used to do the one where you fold a piece of paper several times and then you cut out random shapes (the smaller the better) with scissors before you unfold and then you find a symmetrical cut out pattern.

I loved those origami fortune tellers where you mark colors and numbers and then write the fortune under the tabs. Hours of fun. Even guys played. Cheap and easy too. i made paper dolls with removable paper dresses in different styles. my favourites were the high heel shoes. i drew the dresses with markers, and then cut them out and attached to the doll by folding the edges. this way my doll could have as many dresses as i wanted.

Paper sailing boats and desperate trying to make them float in street puddles only to watch them sink in less than a minute again and again. Of course with my name written on the side. And all sort of available extravaganza - tiny wood sticks, ants to act as sailors, even κομφετί sprinkled all over to sort of mimic some kind of magical seascape. And yes, I did try blowing just in case the main sail catches my wind and stays afloat two more secs. I did discover paper planes shortly after. And dropped out when my mom showed me she could do a perfect, beautiful rose only by folding paper.

hmmm,I used to make many things like envelops(using glue or tape),aeroplains(unfortunately I never learned how to make boats),also we used to play a game that we had to cut the paper so it was shaped in a weird way and we wrote on the one side numbers and on the others stuff like "he/she lones you" "yes" "no way"...

I remember me and my twin sister when we were young (at of 8), we had a science project to draw the rainbow colors in a circle made out of paper, and then attach it to the middle part of the fan. We would turn on the fan on the highest speed so we can see the colors turn to white (they mix with speed of turning), we even would compete which one's attempt is more successful. It was a magical experience especially to witness something like this in such a young age.

When I was a kid my bestfriend lived next door but our parents had rules: "No playing outside of your respective yards until noon." I don't blame them but it required getting creative. So up the giant tree next to the fence I went... with markers, scissors, paper and crafty supplies. This tree was plenty tall and it let me sit across from my bestfriend's second story house window. She would temporarily tie yarn or string to something in her room and then throw the ball to me. Then we would raise and lower our ends in order to send the hanger with ziplock bags attached back and forth. Sometimes it was snacks, sometimes it was drawing paper, craft supplies, etc. I wish I could remember all the paper crafts we made, many happened I'm sure, but it's the sitting in the tree and morning sunshine, hanging out with my bestfriend and being creative that I'll never forget. That and counting down the minutes till noon.

snowflakes. used to make them during class... all day long... the cheap white blank writing tablet paper was the best - folded really tight. just paper and scissors. free cutting - no marks. made enough to cover my 8th grade classroom ceiling with them one christmas.

In Switzerland we say them 'Scherenschnitt', I don't know if paper cut with scissors is the correct translation. I made garlands, little fairy tails and a lot of animal cuts. Love this book!

My favourite one was to turn the cardboard rolls of toilet paper into little animals. I glued faces, ears, hair, legs, tails etc made out of colored paper to them. In the end, I had a little zoo in my room

As a child I would construct paper models of the settings from books that I read because I didn't the stories to end. when i was a little girl i used to cut out paper dolls silhouettes and draw all their outfits and place on top - i was destined to dress things now i am a stylist and i take photos of my clients and clothes and montage styles on top for clients with cutouts its kind of my quirky trademark - daggy but i love it! :)

My latest creation was an origami light! I also make paper necklaces that do not last long cause of the nature of the material but still like them!

As the only daughter of 4 children, Christmas decorations was my forte. I would use old wrapping paper (we always saved these from previous years) to make paper chains, angels and tree decorations of multi-coloured paper.

I remember being absolutely obsessed with creating paper fringes, especially out of tissue paper. The wonderful feeling of it beneath the fingertips was well worth the concentration required so as not to accidently cut off a little strip and blemish the overall effect. It is great reading about everyone else's reverence for paper too!

i loved creating collages using tissue paper when i was younger. just crinkle up the tissue paper into small balls and glue them on a poster to start creating. i love the texture of those collages.

When I was young my favourite craft poject with paper was during the summer hollidays in the beach club locker room. The project was with my friends and consisted to throw wet toilet paper to the ceiling fixing and creating forms and drawings. When I was 10, my school teacher read us the story of 'Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes' at the beginning of the school year. Sadako developed leukemia from exposure to radiation when she was young. She lived in Hiroshima in World War II. She hoped to fold 1000 paper cranes, which she believed would allow her to have one wish come true. However, she did not live long enough to realize her goal. My teacher then taught us hold to create an origami crane and our class made a goal to fold 1000 cranes over the course of the school year, in memory of Sadako. We hung them across the room over the desks, folding cranes in our free moments. Over time, the room filled with the color of the paper cranes. We met our goal sometime in April. I can't remember how we celebrated, but I remember the cranes.

I don't know why....probably it's an italian praxis or probably it's all over the world like that...but before......all the builder at work use this kind of paper-boat made with a newspaper, like a hat. (do you know what i mean?) My grandfather was a builder too and i remember i liked so much when he teached me how to do that !! I think, I have done like thousands an thousand of this boat and after a while i started to coulored with markers and pencils. Probably now you can find something like that also at the Paris week......but not for builders but for 30000 $..... Ciao !!

1) Origami "lucky stars" from those colorful and wonderfully scented strips of paper, but my grubby little hands always managed to mess them up. I would (attempt to) make them by folding the strips of paper up into tiny triangles, which would then be pinched together to form a small puffy star. 2) Origami cameras with pre-drawn "photos" stashed inside so I could show the victim my hand-drawn version of them, always with giant shoulders and no feet. And the ULTIMATE paper craft, 3) PAPER MAKING! Complete with screens, a rainbow of molting scraps, and the ultimate blender.

I did a lot of paper craft back then.. but my fave is paper plane, I got this 3 volume paper plane books, full of all kinds of paper airplane i couldn't imagine before, including a hangar and classic WW I shaped plane.. and the best thing is they all flew, although not all flew gracefully... :P I like to mess around with colors paper too, making picture using color paper mix it with crayons, paint and whatnot... cheers! thanks..

In addition to the usual glueing strips of paper together to make paper chains and folding paper circles & cutting to make snow flakes, my most favorite paper craft was creating huge bedroom wall collages with the magazines I bought with babysitting money. When I was a teenager, I'd cut & cut for hours on end then carefully tape up images to fully cover a huge bedroom wall, floor to ceiling. My sisters & parents would always come to see what my wall looked like. I'd love to go back to those days where I took hours on end to create my walls of wonder.

My favorite paper craft to make when I was a kid was paper dolls. My sister and I would make the girls out of paper and then all kinds of different clothes with the little tabs to put them on the dolls. We made such a mess and it was glorious--glitter, ribbon, and everything else. Then we would put on scripted puppet shows for my parents and grandparents after dinner or on weekends, and if one of them talked during the performance I would get mad and insist on starting the play over :)

It all started when I was seven when my sis kindly shares with me a packet of colored papers, we have had a good time folding them up, corner to corner, one fold after another. We would cut them up to form linking flowers, trees, faces, etc... We would do it until all the colored papers has been used up. Now, I grown up to be a graphic designer incorporating paper crafts into my design artworks... adding another interesting dimension to the just 2D prints... I love my job. As a kid paper was my favorite, from making my own little pop-up cards and mini-books to paper cranes and planes. Paper airplanes were cool because the ones I made actually flew, I would experiment with all the different types of paper and paper clips for weights. There's this EAA museum I would visit at least every summer for inspiration. Then, paper planes led to start designing my own kites. I got this really cool vintage paper craft book from my Grandma, with some neat patterns for kites in it... oh the nostalgia.

when i was 7-9 i think my favorite passion was bulletin. it was those kind of lottery tickets you need to tear off 5 stripes to know you win or not. So if you fold up in right way it became a figure of the man. I had a big army with different types of warriors with vehicles and planes. I could play all day long with my neighbour - it was really exiting. I also like origami a lot and glue military models based on blue print, but those lottery army was my favourite one! When I was young my favorite paper craft project was to fold paper and make cut outs. I would then open them up and string them across my room, stick them from end to end on either side of my notebook pages so that they would unfurl as a string when i opened the book.

Seriously, my favorite art project as a kid was found in my kindergarten art class. We would be given a bunch of colorful construction paper and magazines and told to create a 3D play-land. I would build building, slides, tunnels, strange plant forms...pin-wheel type "living" flowers... to add to this magical world. I would become so involved in these projects, the teacher would literally have to pull me away from it to catch the bus. She would fill my little back pack with an assortment of paper and glue sticks so I could continue the adventure when I got to day care. When I become a teacher, this will be a frequent project me and my students will work on. Anything is possible in this play-land and papers possibilities and characteristics makes in all the more fascinating!
