The 'Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias // CAC (City of Arts and Sciences )  signage system in Valencia, Spain is a fine example of how to elaborate a concept that harmonizes with the surrounding architecture. Sitting on a Santiago Calatrava project is no easy task as forms are bold and the palette is usually minimal. Competing forms should be prevented but at the same time you want to create something that is noticeable as visitors must locate these effortlessly while navigating the park. The team at BOSCO Graphics took on the challenge and accomplished a bold, rich yet simple solution to accompany the surrounding context and lead visitors around the CAC. Sharp sans serif typography in bold and light styles contrasts from its applied material (white panel, fabric, perforated metal or concrete).  Simple mono icons developed for the project are easy to notice and clear to follow.

The signage system is efficiently applied and enriching to the environment. Often displaying the information in three languages, the system is an integral component of a successful CAC project. The system alleviates confusion, permits flow of circulation and landmarks for people to orient themselves throughout this vast park. The system contains pedestrian signage, room identification, digital displays, vehicular signage and promotional displays.
