After only finishing their studies one year ago the team at Lime Studio are proving their status in the design world with the Levantina Bar at 100%Design 2008. Lime Studio have worked with Levantina since 100% Futures 2007, and been exploring new materials including a porcelain ceramic tile to develop innovative furniture concepts. A number of these were showcased at the Salone Satellite in Milan earlier this year.
In the Levantina bar the visitor will be able to experience the feeling of Sahara Black granite on their feet, tasting a drink on a Blanco Ibiza table, the way a Negro Zimbabwe top table is suited to a friendly
conversation. All of these being enveloped in a multi-coloured TECHLAM® wall inlaid into a wooden canopy stretching the full length of the space.
There are two areas for seating within the bar area, a more formal area, and a more relaxing space both allowing for a variety of uses by customers. The formal area is situated underneath the canopy. It creates a space where people can sit and talk on more formal seats. On the other side is a more relaxed area in open space with low cushioned stools gathered around individual coffee tables. The bar with its black granite top is situated away from the seating area, where people can gather around.

The bar spaces feature a range of furniture concepts that Lime Studio are looking to put into production with manufacturers. There are three new furniture concepts by Lime Studio especially designed for the bar space comprising an upholstered bench, dining chair, marble topped dining table together with the previously seen FUR table.
Lime Studio are gradually gaining pace with a variety of projects currently being undertaken including working with well known UK based manufacturer Hitch Mylius on a range of new seating concepts, and on prototypes of the triangular coffee table series with prestigious Italian Manufacturer Cappellini.
These coffee tables were shown by Lime Studio at their exhibition at Salone Satellite during this year’s Milan Furniture Fair.
Lime Studio is an up and coming UK based furniture design studio which was established by a trio of international designers in 2005 after a series of collaborative projects whilst under graduates at Nottingham Trent University. The trio consists of British born Matthew Dabbs, half Japanese half Swiss Oscar Tange and Cypriot born Panos Vasiliou who since finishing their design courses have gone from strength to strength.
