Yatzer readers cannot say they haven’t been warned about Zavros’ magnificent work. This time he leaves behind his hybrid creatures and trophies to concentrate on one of contemporary fashion’s fetishes. In order to celebrate the launch of Balenciaga clothing in Australia, Zavros collaborated exclusively with Jean Brown (Jean Brown, Shop 62 Emporium, 1000 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley / Australia) for the creation of some unique takes on Balenciaga iconic handbags that were displayed during the opening party of the event on the 23d of April 2009.

Zavros’ work, this time inspired by graffiti techniques and street culture, spread a new warholian breeze to Balenciaga’s creations, proving that when imagination teams up with fashion stunning things can occur. And since a trip to Australia is not the easiest thing to do, Yatzer “travelled” for you to bring you some great photos and an amazing video of the event.

"Only Balenciaga is a true couturier, only he is able to cut fabric, assemble it and sew it with his own hand, the others are merely draftsmen." Coco Chanel (extract of Jean Brown's event invitation)
