Life is like a movie: we are the unknown heroes of a fairytale with no specific end or beginning, mysterious figures in the eyes of the strangers, adored accomplices in the eyes of the beloved, struggling to find a meaning to an often unbearable reality. Everyone has a story to hide and everyone is trying hard to give a happy ending to his own adventures that are often predictable (see the everyday routine) and often full of magic (those moments that make the difference). Sometimes a very second, just a single glance, a captured expression, a gesture, a significant event can reveal more about us than an entire life. These are the moments that Aaron Hobson, a very talented American photographer from Pennsylvania, is in search of.  Looking for this very moment that will make us shine like the ultimate heroes, that will give answers and at the same time will spread doubts, Aaron creates unique sceneries of strange beauty.

Aaron Hobson works are titled cinemascapes because they narrate stories. Our imagination is the only key in order to understand them since each one of us projects his own desires, fears and longings to what he sees. Aaron Hobson’s photos invite us to create our original scripts, to name the characters, to sense their feelings, to feel the agony of their existence, to imagine what happened just before and what will happen the very next moment.

“The images are evolving each and every day. They pull inspiration from the most basic elements of human emotion; fear, sex, abandonment… As long as there is human emotion for to experience, there will be cinemascapes to create.” Aaron Hobson

Aaron’s photos come of an intense curiosity to understand life and get to know the stories of the people that surround us. Through the imaginary he explores the real, through the script he approaches true life. His love for photography is genuine and, as he explains, it opened him a new path in his life
“It wasn't until 3+ years ago that I picked up a camera after a decade of living in a small town in the remote Adirondack Mountains and decided to mix my memories with imagination.” Aaron Hobson

Do not miss Aaron Hobson’s upcoming show this fall in Berlin. It is going to be a unique experience to get in touch with his heroes’ stories and who knows, maybe you’ll find a piece of yours…
