Yes to All by Sylvie Fleury

published in: Exhibitions, Art By Costas Voyatzis, 23 August 2008

Location: Swarovki Kristallwelten, Wattens, Austria
Design: Sylvie Fleury

Garden art is one of the many passions enjoyed by André Heller, the creator of the Crystal Worlds. In the far-reaching area around the Giant, a maze and an alpine lure visistirs with bewildering Insights and outlooks. Art consorts with nature: with extraordinary objects from Barry Flanagan, Alois Schild, Bruno Gironcoli, Franz West, Josef Pilloher, yatzer's favorite Sylvie Fleury and others.

The large format letters covered in thousands of STRASS® Swarovski® Crystals spell out the message YES TO ALL, which doesn’t just represent a computer message from the Microsoft operating system but also can be interpreted as a cynical commentary on neo-liberal politics. These politics are aimed at converting people into consumers and to suggest that large shopping malls are a ritual gathering place. YES TO ALL thus emerges as a commercial construction of human desires.
