Presented during Ambiente in Frankfurt last month, the Selfportrait mirror by Portego acts as a bridge between the two ends of the legendary Silk Road: its pleated, hand-carved wooden handle reminds of Chinese paper fans, while the object itself has been a popular accessory for the ladies of Venice for centuries. Designed by Ilaria Innocenti and Giorgio Laboratore, the mirror is accompanied by a wooden base and a wall mount, also in wood.
