Phillip K. Smith III received his Bachelor of Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. He now operates a studio out of Palm Desert, California, where he draws his inspiration primarily from the Bauhaus movement. His most famous sculptures include "Infinity Column," featured in a 2008 annual review in Art of America, as well as "Aperture," which he created during his year of residency at the Palm Springs Art Museum.
