BJ Formento was born in 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaii. After his studies at the Academy of Arts in San Francisco, he moved to New York in 1999 to work as a freelance photographer. Richeille Formento was born in 1975 in London, England and attended the Central Saint Martins College before finding work as a designer and art director for various fashion labels.

Together at Formento + Formento, they have compiled a decade of notable achievements, including several mentions from the press, many successful solo exhibitions in Paris, London, Berlin, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, New York, Miami, Tokyo and Shangaim, as well as being nominated as a top finalist to Vogue’s New Exposure Competition in 2012.
