They have transformed their names into an internationally renowned label. From fashion to perfume, these two creators are bewitching our times with a unique style. EXCELLENCE, TRADITION, INNOVATION, CELEBRATIONS Strengthened by two centuries of know-how, the House of PIPER-HEIDSIECK has invited VIKTOR & ROLF to share in the magical world of Extravaganza. Two centuries of bold innovation for a shared dream. Adding extra sparkle to the world by surprising it. At the crossroads of classical style and the greatest extravagance, the house of PIPER-HEIDSIECK has given them a free hand to look at life through pink-coloured glasses.
“WHEN WE WERE CONTACTED BY PIPER-HEIDSIECK,THE FIRST QUESTION WE ASKED OURSELVES WAS: HOW CAN WE MAKE THIS BOTTLE,WHICH WE THINK OF AS ICONIC, LOOK A LITTLE BIT LIKE US?” VIKTOR & ROLF
As virtuosos of breaking with tradition to redefine classical style, VIKTOR & ROLF have reinterpreted the iconic objects of champagne on behalf of PIPER-HEIDSIECK, bringing their UPSIDE DOWN twist to the champagne bottle, flute and ice bucket. A blend of pink and gold. Champagne-talisman. Lucky bubbles. The night brings out the stars. The sky comes down to earth. Welcome to the world of apparitions. Spurred on by VIKTOR & ROLF, the bottle turns into a phial. A magic casket. An illusion. The back becomes the front. The bottom of the bottle becomes the top. The inverted flute becomes a coupe. The gaze is overturned, the head bows, a waking dream is beginning …
“MAKING A CHAMPAGNE CORK FLY IS LIKE UNDOING THE BOW ON A PRESENT WRAPPED IN ELEGANT PAPER.WE LOVE THE NOISES OF CHAMPAGNE, THE LITTLE TUNE OF CHAMPAGNE,THE EMOTIONS OF CHAMPAGNE. IN 2007,WE CELEBRATED THE ARRIVAL OF THE FIRST FINE DAYS WITH FRIENDS AND CHAMPAGNE, ON A BOAT.” VIKTOR & ROLF
for PIPER-HEIDSIECK is a way of celebrating the greater and smaller moments in life with daring and nonchalance. It is about creating a Melchizedek (64 bottles), the largest bottle in the world – 1m 82cm – to celebrate in splendour the Oscar won by Rex Harrison for his role played opposite Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. It is about Baby PIPER, the accessory for enjoyable evenings out, a small red lacquered bottle, to be sipped from the tip of the lips with a straw. It is about the birth of ROSÉ SAUVAGE: an intensely coloured and flamboyant wine, fresh, fruity and dressed in pink fuchsia … It is also about designer Jaime Hayon casting his eye over the champagne bucket and transforming a utilitarian object into a casket, hijacking 18th century baroque in red lacquer. It’s a touch of outrageousness with the PIPER-HEIDSIECK Piscine, a large majestic red container, welcoming champagne and champagne ice cubes. More than any other, our age is that of EXTRAVAGANZA, searching for originality and sensuality, revisiting traditions. When you are sure of the quality, any boldness is possible.
