What if we told you that once upon a time there was a girl who found the ultimate joy in cooking, recording every detail in the process? That this girl had lived through the turbulent times of Mexico’s Revolution and that after her death, her discarded cookbook was lost to the world for years, only to be found by chance years and years later in an old basement by Marco Colin? All the while, the spirit of that girl lived inside the book she had written, patiently waiting to be unleashed and make magic happen...

Now, asides from that sounding like the beginning of a great story, let's find out more about the character in question. This girl actually existed. She lived in a French style house in ''la Colonia Roma'' (a French neighborhood in Mexico City) and lived and died with one dream: to own her very own restaurant. The girl's name was Malamén and now, after all these years, her dream has come true with the help of the Ricardo Casas Design Office, Andres Ocejo and Marco Colin.
It all began when Marco Colin, a graphic designer and globetrotter, found himself in the basement of Malamén's house and came across her magical cookbook by chance. Entranced, the idea was formed: and just like that the collaboration with the creative guys over at Ricardo Casas Design Office began. The mission? To realize Malamén's dream and let the whole world know her story!
