STUDIO GLITHERO is a London based partnership of designers Tim Simpson and Sarah van Gameren. Sharing a fascination with man’s relationship to machine, the designers have exhibited their process and time based installations both close to home, at the London Design Museum and internationally at Design Tide in Tokyo.

During the Furniture Fair in Milan, Studio Glithero they presented an installation of slowly emerging objects of wax for gallery Nilufar, taking inspiration from bygone manufacturing processes and products that are born gradually and develop with the passing of time. Following the technique of candle making, strung wick is dipped into vats of molten wax and slowly grows into enormous wax chandeliers.

Also featured; A site-specific installation by Martino Gamper containing historical design objects + Nilufar editions featuring Alessandro Mendini, Philippe Bestenhaider, Arik Levy, Caturegli & Formica, Barnaba Fornasetti and Andrea Salvetti, Julia Lohmann and Studio Glithero.

According to its traditions, Nilufar is proposing once again an exhibition-yard on the gallery’s activities in the last year, on the occasion of Salone Internazionale del Mobile, organised in Milan (April 16-21, 2008). The exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 5.00 p.m. in 32, Via della Spiga and will be opened till the end of May, from Monday to Saturday, from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Panta rei is consecrated to the contemporary artists the gallery was able to polarise weaving projects, editions and ideas showing also a strong lack of continuity against the international design’s main stream, in that fertile and disquieting area having a dialogue with the world of art.
