Aristides Ruiz has been a studio member at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts since 2010. He lives and works in New York City. He studied at the DuCret School of Art in Plainfield, New Jersey, graduating in 1983. His work is the "expression of a sensation, the recognition of the aesthetic moment. When a spontaneous harmony is fortunately achieved, a temporal stillness is felt. Revealed is the extraordinary resonance of being; an experience of being alive." "As a single drop of the sea contains the taste of the whole ocean," Ruiz says of his work, "so too, I hope these single episodes of a much longer tale convey that ineffable beauty."
