Georgia Russell was born in Eglin, Scotland in 1974. She earned her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Aberdeen in 1997, winning the distinction of 1st Class Honor. She also received a MA with a focus on Printmaking from London's Royal College of Art in 2000. Russell is best-known for her use of collage and mixed media techniques. In 2000 she won the Aurora Prize for Fine Art from the Royal College of Art, London.
