Based in Osaka, Japan, SIDES CORE Studio was founded in 2005 by designers Sohei and Sumiko Arao. The studio, which has the motto ''seeking is the essence of things,', is involved in product design, interior design and architecture. It has also  received a ‘Special Mention’ at the 2010 Milan Salone Satellite Design Report Awards.
