Multifunction design studio, Workstead, was established by Robert Andrew Highsmith and Stefanie Brechbuehler in 2009 and has since focused on designing architecture, interiors, lighting, furniture and exhibitions. Based a few states apart in their founders respective studios in Brooklyn, NY and in Charleston, SC, Workstead’s goal is for all their projects to be focused on both the context of each project as well as the content of the people and items each project is created for.

Workstead has designed installations for Barneys New York, Facebook and Levi’s among others and their lighting designs are sold in showrooms around the world. As far as architecture and interiors, Workstead is responsible for both residential and commercial projects around the U.S. such as the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, NY, the First Ward salon in Tulsa, OK, and the Arcade Bakery in Tribeca, NY.
